Ag Days / Events

Kansas Corn STEM supports organizations and individuals who educate youth and the public about agriculture and the corn industry. Our goal is to keep the conversation going about agriculture by finding activities that encourages learning long after the lesson has been taught. For ag days or events we provide support in several ways.

Processing Details: Please allow 2-3 weeks for us to process your order. If you request supplies for a later date, we will ship your supplies closer to when you plan to use the supplies.
Event Support: Due to high demand for other programs Kansas Corn STEM staff, including our guest speakers, are unable to attend events to run booths.

Booth Activity

Individuals seeking a 10-15 minute youth activity focused on corn can request supplies to make corn germination necklaces. Our goal is to provide activities that will keep the conversation going after the students leave the short presentation. This activity will allow the students to watch their corn seed germinate for 7-10 days. We provide all of the instructions, talking points and materials. On your request form indicate the total number of students who will be participating in your activity.

Important Info about Booth Activity

This activity requires prep at a minimum of 6 hours in advance of the event. Make sure the person conducting the activity is aware of this. Also, Kansas Corn STEM is limited on human resources. Therefore you will need to find a local individual to conduct the activity. If you need assistance in finding someone please contact us at education@ksgrains.com.

Teacher Bags

Over 87% of Kansas Corn STEM’s funding goes directly to teachers in the form of supplies or training. We want Kansas teachers to know about the free resources. If your organization will be handing out teacher bags we have measuring spoons and a flier that we will provide to include in the bag. Let us know on the request form how many teachers will be at your event.

Student Bags

If your organization will not be conducting the corn germination necklace activity but will be handing out student bags we can provide Kansas Corn STEM pencils.
