Focus on the Future

In today’s fast-paced world where change is the norm, corn growers must come together and focus on the future of the industry. The Kansas Corn Growers Association (KCGA) provides full-time industry representation on issues, representing growers on issues like ethanol, farm programs, crop insurance, water quantity/quality and trade policy. We fight regulatory overreach and work to protect grower access to biotechnology and crop protection tools like atrazine.

Benefits of KCGA Membership

Market Access

The record breaking 2016 harvest and record breaking corn stocks emphasize the importance of market access for corn and corn products. The KCGA works for corn growers by actively pursuing legislative and regulatory issues in Topeka and Washington DC to protect and increase domestic and foreign market access for corn and corn products, like meat, ethanol and DDGS.

Legislative and Regulatory Advocacy for Farmers

The KCGA brings farmers together to connect with legislators, agencies, state and national leadership to effect change. The association also fights against regulatory overreach that infringes on your right to farm.

KCGA is proactively working with National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) to represent growers  on the next farm bill, working to keep a strong crop insurance program, a strong safety net and funding for the vital export development programs MAP and FMD.

KCGA is a leader in representing growers in EPA’s continuing registration review of  atrazine. Last year. we lead the fight against EPA’s latest risk assessment that would essentially eliminate the use of atrazine. The review continues, and KCGA will be there with the Triazine Network to represent growers insisting that EPA to use credible science in the atrazine registration review.

Opportunities to Engage

The KCGA has created new programs that help farmers become more involved in the association. As a member, you decide how you want to be involved and our team will work to get you engaged in Kansas Corn.

  • KCGA hosts grower meetings in districts across the state. The 2017 Listening Tour has been completed, and 2018 meetings will be announced later.
  • Applications are being accepted for Class Two of the new Kansas Corn Corps young farmer program. The program is designed to help provide young farmers with business development assistance and create a network of fellow young farmers.

Have a United Voice for Corn

When we come together as Kansas Corn, we create a network that works toward change and moves the industry forward. Your membership in KCGA also makes you a member in the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA). Together, we are stronger!

New three-year members receive a free bag of corn seed from participating seed companies who see the value in the KCGA, which more than pays for your membership. Renewing three-year members get a free bag of corn seed with the purchase of a bag from one of our seed sponsors.

Hortau Soil Moisture Management System Discount

KCGA partners with Hortau Simplified Irrigation to offer their soil moisture management system at a discount. Hortau’s irrigation management field stations and easy-to-use mobile applications report to growers how crops are faring in real time – before stresses such as drought or lack of aeration can have a negative impact.

This proprietary, plant-centric approach measures crop stress using patented soil-tension probes and state of the art telemetry, ensuring optimal growth, while assisting in the reduction of water and energy consumption.
