Kansas Corn STEM Lesson Author KaCee James

KaCee is an agriculture education teacher at Jayhawk-Linn High School. She has several roles with Kansas Corn STEM, serving as a Lesson Author and as a member of the Teacher Advisory Board.  KaCee loves that Kansas Corn STEM provides a variety of lessons and activities that cover numerous content areas, all while being tied to corn.  She is excited to start her 13th year of teaching. She loves teaching students the science and art of agriculture and food production.

We asked KaCee why she chose to teach about agriculture in her classroom?
“My love for agriculture and teaching all started in 4-H. Doing project talks and teaching others about my animals made me realize I was a natural teacher, so being an agriculture teacher was a natural fit,” she said.

KaCee is the author of eight middle school and high school “We Grow Corn” worksheets.  Teachers can request the “We Grow Corn!” book here, or  have students read the book online here.  The  teachers can use the worksheets, which meet NGSS standards. These worksheet allow teachers to take the learning further, and are great to provide to substitute teachers.
