Science Through Inquiry

Kansas Corn funds a summer science institute for selected teachers to learn about inquiry-based learning. Last year’s teachers were tasked with creating virtual inquiry-based lessons with little input and direction from Kansas Corn STEM. They created a Bitmoji classroom with lessons that can used by K-12 teachers.  Lesson topics: Rube Goldberg, Magnetism, Human Flight and Rivers Change Course. This is another great resource for you to use in your classroom.

Summer Science Institutes

The Kansas Corn Commission and the Kansas Soybean Commission provide inquiry-based training opportunities for teachers to incorporate “systems thinking” methods using corn and soybeans as focus points. Those chosen for the workshops receive stipends, classroom supplies and continuing education credits.
