Ag Days / Events
Kansas Corn Commission supports organizations and individuals who educate youth and the public about agriculture and the corn industry. We are committed to assisting you with your efforts.
Are your looking for a corn activity for your booth? Individuals seeking a 10-15 minute youth activity focused on corn will receive supplies to make corn germination necklaces. Our goal is to provide activities that will keep the conversation going after the students leave the presentation. This activity will allow the students to watch their corn seed germinate for 7-10 days. We provide all of the instructions, talking points and materials. On your request form indicate the total number of students who will be participating in your activity.
Note: Kansas Corn Commission is limited on human resources therefore you will need to find a local individual to conduct the activity. If you need assistance in finding someone please contract us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kansas Corn STEM has many great resources for teachers. A great way to keep the conversation going about corn is by encouraging teachers to visit our website to request a teacher kit so they can to teach their own corn lesson in the classroom. If your organization will be handing out teacher bags we have measuring spoons and a flier that we will provide to include in the bag. Let us know on the request form how many teachers will be at your event.
If your organization will not be conducting the corn germination necklace activity but will be handing out student bags we will provide Kansas Corn STEM pencils.
Please complete the request form to receive supplies and support for your event. This form can also be used for special requests or those seeking other types of sponsorship. Requests need to be submitted three weeks prior to the event.
