With Latest Extension, There’s Still Time for WOTUS Comments

Nov. 14 Now Deadline for Comments—Kansas Governor Submits Comments

Oct. 23, 2014–The Kansas Corn Growers Association reminded its members today that the new deadline for comments to EPA on its Waters of the U.S. proposed rule is now November 14. EPA extended, for the second time, the comment period. KCGA participated in a news conference today with Governor Sam Brownback who submitted his WOTUS comments. KCGA is a member of the Kansas Agricultural Alliance, which asked the Governor and Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt to be proactive on the WOTUS issue.

“Attorney General Schmidt, along with several other attorneys general and governors filed a formal objection to the WOTUS proposed rule earlier this month. Today’s comment submission by Governor Brownback solidifies the state’s position against EPA’s regulatory overreach on this issue,” KCGA CEO Greg Krissek said.
