Corn Schools Jan. 11, 14 and 15 at Independence, Garden City & Salina

Three K-State Corn Production Management Schools will be offered in early January 2016 in southeast, southwest, and central Kansas. The schools, to be held Jan. 11 in Independence, Jan.14 in Garden City and Jan. 15 in Salina, will provide in-depth training targeted for corn producers. The Kansas Corn Commission and DuPont Pioneer are primary sponsors of the schools.

“We had two corn schools last year, and both were at or near capacity, and feedback from the participants was very positive,” according to Kansas Corn Communications Director Sue Schulte. “We are excited to offer three corn schools this year in Independence, Garden City and Salina.

The one-day schools will cover several current corn topics relevant to corn producers in Kansas: drought-tolerant hybrids, high-yielding corn factors, weed control, soil fertility, and price and market perspectives. The Corn Schools will begin with registration at 8:45 a.m. and presentations will conclude at around 2 p.m. Participants will be invited to remain after the conclusion of the school to hear a featured speaker at the Independence school, and tours at the Garden City and Salina schools.  Locations and schedules are listed below.
