Kansas Corn hosts Latin American Ethanol Buyers and Saudi Arabian Feed Buyers

The US Grains Council brought national refiners from Chile, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador and Peru to the U.S. to give them background on corn and the U.S.  ethanol. Their trade mission began in Washington D.C. where Kansas Corn staff Greg Krissek and Stacy Mayo-Martinez gave an overview U.S. corn.  They also heard from ethanol industry experts on everything from octane to policy. The team then traveled to Kansas to visit the farm of Matt Splitter and the Kansas Ethanol plant in Lyons. They also met with Flint Hills Resources and Jump Start stations that offer ethanol blends.

This week, a team of executives from the procurement department of ARASCO, one of the leading feed companies in Saudi Arabia. While in the U.S., the team visited Illinois, Kansas and Louisiana to see firsthand U.S. corn, corn co-products and sorghum production, meeting directly with U.S. suppliers and exporters. The goal of the mission was to build confidence in U.S. feed grain quality and consistency and advance their familiarity of the U.S. marketing system and logistic channels for feed grains and co-product exports. The team visited Glenn Caldwell’s farm near Garnett where they discussed corn, sorghum, DDGS and ethanol.

“We support trade missions like these with US Grains Council to provide overseas customers with a first-hand look at we grow a plentiful corn supply for the growing global demand for ethanol, and to continue to build demand for corn and DDGS. We are developing relationships with foreign buyers to be their supplier of choice for corn in all forms,” Kansas Corn CEO, Greg Krissek said.
